PAVLOS K. HASSANAGAS

Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapist

Pavlos K. Hassanagas is a yoga teacher, whose name is connected with the organized teaching of yoga in Macedonia. He began teaching in Romania in 1969 and then moved to Macedonia in 1972 where he lived until 1987. Today he lives and teaches in Greece and comes to Macedonia several times a year, when he holds lectures and seminars for students and teachers at the Yoga Federation of Macedonia.

One might say that every spiritual teacher has a mission. Pavlos K. Hassanagas is a teacher whom we can thank for conveying the knowledge of yoga in a purified and understandable manner.

His teachings are based on the classical yoga of Patanjali, which he adapts to the contemporary needs of people today, without losing its essence. Recognizing the necessity of synthesis of various types of yoga, he conveys this knowledge in the form of Integral Yoga, since that is the only path that can provide a comprehensive spiritual transformation.
He treasures the traditional way of teaching - live and direct transfer of knowledge. He has developed a genuine methodological teaching approach, as well as in training yoga teaching staff.

To promote the culture of yoga in various forms, he directed his activity to several areas:

The intrinsic value of his method is that it helps people not only to understand yoga easier but also to incorporate this ancient knowledge into everyday life.

His constant preoccupation is the improvement of teaching methodology towards resolving the problems and dilemmas that are not due only to ignorance but to the adversities of the times and the way we live, the social environment and cultural differences.
He is open to other spiritual systems in which he tries to reveal and unite mutual elements. Yet he is also interested in the relatedness between yoga and modern science.

The books "Yoga: A Spiritual Odyssey" and "Satsang: In the company of truth" present his explanations of key spiritual, philosophical and psychological concepts in yoga, while the book  "Sadhana: Yoga Practice" details his original methodological approach to teaching.

He is the President of the International Association of Yoga Science Centres, Secretary General of World Federation for Holistic Health Sciences, and honorary member of the Indian Association for Clinical Ayurveda.
